What are we waiting for this year?
Many news bulletins this year have asked the question 'So what will Christmas be like?' and plans were made based on the promise of an extended period of mixing - seeing family and friends indoors without having to think about social distancing. Then the announcements began ' Sorry - can't do it after all'. Plans rapidly re-made, shopping that hadn't been necessary became necessary, butchers received calls asking if orders could be reduced 'We'll be alone now'.
But is Christmas just about the socialising, nice as that is? Will one more day in our own (comfortable, generally!) homes really hurt us?
This video from a church in Dublin, makes the point very clearly. Time to think just what IS Christmas about?
